This morning I came across an article about some common food additives. Since I’ve been reading food labels more carefully lately, I thought it was very interesting to read what is going into many of the foods we commonly stock in our pantry or fridge. It’s no wonder we all have days from time to time when we just feel plain yucky!
If you’ve not been feeling your best lately, check out the ingredients in the prepared foods that you eat. Look up those words that you have no idea how to pronounce and see what’s really going into your food. You might be surprised what you’ll find.

yup. this is why I try to stick to raw foods as much as possible and whole grain stuff without added junk. thanks for that link!
The worst part is when you decide which ingredients you want to ban from your diet but discover that the same item goes by a number of different names — those companies can be sneaky! It is scary to realize what we’re really putting into our bodies when we consume processed foods, worth it to do the research, and hard to get it out of our diets!
Yuck! I don’t think I really want to know. I am sure I would be so grossed out that I might eat very little.
I know what you mean, there are just so many additives! One we try to avoid is MSG.
I have several older cookbooks that I enjoy looking through periodically. Recently I was reading a Betty Crocker cookbook from 1963. Many of the recipes have you adding up to a full teaspoon of msg for every kind of dish you can think of! I don’t even know if you can buy a can of msg in the store anymore…
