Florida has some very unique characteristics, one being that you may need to run the air conditioner one day and build a fire in the fireplace the very next day. Tuesday it was in the 80’s; today we needed three layers of clothing to keep from shivering. We’re wimps.
Tonight we’ll bundle up and head to church for night #2 of our annual missions conference. Last night’s service was such a blessing! A national pastor from the Philippines preached the message, and there was also a presentation by a couple of deaf nationals from the island of St. Lucia who desire to evangelize the deaf in their home country. Another man from the island has completed his training and plans to go to Zimbabwe as a missionary to the deaf people there. There are so many people in the world who still have never been told that Jesus died for their sins so that they can spend eternity in heaven with Him. The deaf need to “hear” this message, too, and I am so thankful that our church has a ministry to the hearing impaired in our community and supports missionaries who minister to deaf people around the world.
