Yesterday Mr. C loaded up the back of his pickup truck with boxes from his office and headed down to Florida. He will be preaching a graduation service on Wednesday night and inspecting the house that we have a contract on. I sent the video camera with him so that he can give me a “virtual tour” of the house. I must be one crazy woman trusting my husband to purchase a house that I haven’t ever set foot in! 🙂 Lil’ Nut was so excited to make the trip with her daddy. She’ll get to spend two days with her grandmas, and I’m sure they will enjoy the time just as much as Lil’ Nut will.
I thought the three kids who stayed behind with me would mope around all day, but I was pleasantly surprised. They worked hard on their lessons and were finished shortly after lunch. Since all work and no play makes for grumpy kiddos (and moms), as a reward for their good attitudes I took them to the beach area at the lake for the afternoon. The weather was perfect! Mickey and Bookworm spent most of their time in the water while Curly Girl played in the sand.
I sat on the sand and intended to start reading a new book, but mostly I just relaxed and enjoyed the gorgeous view.
After a couple of hours in the sun, we packed up our stuff and headed home. I made a surprise stop along the way. You should have heard the cheers as I pulled through the drive-thru at the Golden Arches. Who knew that a double cheeseburger would mean so much? 🙂

Sounded like a perfect afternoon for all of y’all! It’s amazing ~ sometimes a double cheeseburger makes me incredibly happy, too;o) It’s the little things, I’m telling you!! Just wanted you to know that I’m praying for y’all daily, for a easy, smooth transition as well as a buyer for your home. Can’t wait to see what Mr. C picked out ~ YOU ARE TRUSTING;o) lol

I would never in amillion years let my husband pick the house. We would end up with a two bedroom,900 sq ft home with a tiny kitchen, a four car garage and 2000 sq ft shop!
I’m glad you had such a wonderful afternoon. I know God will direct your hubby to make the right decision about the house. And once you get there and make it ‘home’ you will be content to be there – with your sweet family, in God’s place for you. ~Adrienne~
Sounds like such a great afternoon for your little ones and you!
We don’t get to do that until after June 25…the last day of school technically although I think I have to report for a half day (which for me means 1 1/2 hrs!) on 6/26….we are counting the days!!
Sounds like y’all had a good time. I’m sure Lil’ Nut is getting her fill of fun as well. And uh, yeah…craaaaaaaazy woman! just kidding
what a beautiful lake! sounds like you had a great day 🙂
You are brave! I would never let Peter pick out a house for us to live in!! I’d be afraid.
A wonderfully relaxing day! We like the surprise trip to the “golden arches” as well. :o)
Can’t wait to see pictures of the new house. I’ll bet Mr. C knows you well enough to pick out a wonderful home for you all!

yes…you are a brave woman having your beloved pick out your house…he must know you so well..and lil nut …oh won’t her grandmas just love having her…
Golden Arches…sounds like a fine meal to me..
When we moved here to Canada, there was no other way to get a house than for Wes to come up a few weeks before us to spend a week house-hunting. We didn’t have the money for me to come too, so I had to let go of all my expectations and let him find what we could afford. It turned out to be a fine place that we lived in for over 2 years (rental). I’m sure your hubby will do a great job of choosing your house!
A sweet day and yes, a beautiful view! Hope you like the house! hehe
In our recent move, my husband and sons came ahead and found a house for us. I couldn’t believe I was signing a contract over the fax machine to a house I’d never stepped foot in. It is the most wonderful house for our family– I could not have picked anything better – I love it! I’m sure you will love yours, too. 🙂 Can’t wait to see it ! ~ Jeri Lynn
