Today I decluttered the accumulated stash under the kitchen sink. I store my bread machine, plastic grocery bags, and a few cleaning supplies in this cabinet which has a child-proof lock on it. The rest of my cleaning supplies are stored in the laundry room where they are safely out of the reach of little hands. In the After photo you will notice a water jug that has been converted into a container for storing plastic grocery bags (which find a multitude of uses in our home). If you have any suggestions on how to create a more attractive container to serve this purpose, please pass your idea along!
I’ve used an old tissue box to store bags in before. You could buy a really pretty tissue box just for that purpose.

You’re doing an amazing job. I’m a flybaby too but not very successful yet 🙂 I’ve seen people sew up a tube with a small hole in the bottom (I think it had some elastic waistband sewn in) and a hook for hanging at the top. They hang it up wherever it’s convenient and stuff all the bags in, then just pull one out of the bottom when they need it. Which reminds me…..I could really use one of these, LOL! If I find any instructions in the internet I’ll come back and post the link for you 🙂
I’ve seen what Amy is referring to. In fact I was given one for Christmas by one of the ladies in our church. They would be simple to make. You would take a piece of material about 18″ long and about 12″ wide or wider depending how many bags you want to put in it…join the two side together and sew a seam then sew a seam on both ends with an opening to put elastic through then close up the opening to make it stretchy on top and bottom. Then attach a string or something looped on top to hang it with and then stuff your bags in it and pull them out the bottom. That way you can buy material that matches the decor in your kitchen so you can hang it anywhere and not worry about it looking tacky. They work really well. I plan to make some to give away in the future.
Looks great! I use an old pop up style diaper wipe box to store my plastic bags. It works great. I have a pretty pearlized blue one made by Huggies and it looks really nice just about anywhere. Huggies also has wipes in pretty pearlized yellow and white

Amy’s idea is really great! In fact I had planned on making one this week, VERY simple sewing project even for a beginner! I was about to give you that idea when I had seen someone else already had, lol :O)
