This week I am spending extra time on cleaning projects in the kitchen.
Today I focused on thoroughly cleaning the stovetop and microwave, which took less than 5 minutes. I am thankful to be blessed with a radiant stovetop; I never enjoyed cleaning the drip pans on a traditional stovetop.
An easy tip for cleaning the microwave is to fill a microwaveable container 1/2 full with water, place it in the microwave, and turn it on for 3 minutes. When the timer goes off, leave the container in the microwave an additional 3-5 minutes. When you open the microwave, the steam will have losened any hardened food and all that is necessary is a quick wipe-down. You can also use a water-soaked sponge in the microwave and follow the above steps. The sponge will be very hot after it has been microwaved, so use caution when removing it. This method will also sanitize the sponge!
