Yesterday I had to make a run to S*am’s Club and traveled via the interstate to get there. One of those spur-of-the-moment Florida thunderstorms rolled in while we were on the road. My windshield wipers were swishing as fast as they could, but I still had a hard time seeing. The wind was blowing so hard that I had a hard time staying in my lane. Not fun.
Lil’ Nut (age 4) was giving me a running commentary on the storm, but finally I asked her to quiet down so that I could concentrate on my driving. A couple of minutes later I heard a sweet little voice say, “I think God spilled His drink, and now it’s falling all down on us.” I thought that was so cute!
Last year we studied insects extensively, and it turns out that the older kids paid attention to what I was teaching after all.
When Curly Girl (age 6) saw this pair of grasshoppers out by the pool the other day she exclaimed, “Look! That one is getting a piggy-back ride!” Bookworm quickly informed her that there was more to it than that. Oh, dear me! 🙂
