This past weekend a group of ladies from our church spent the day together at a ladies’ conference at a church near Atlanta. We had a wonderful time fellowshipping together and gleaning from the many sessions available.
The keynote speaker was Mrs. Carol Trahan. I was so blessed to hear her personal testimony of how God has used personal tragedy in her life to mold her into what He wants her to be through complete surrender. You can read more about Mrs. Trahan’s ministry at her website.
The main auditorium was beautifully decorated. Here are a couple of pictures of tables set up in the hallway.
Breakfast and lunch were catered and served in the gymnasium. It was decorated so elegantly. This ice sculpture of two hearts was the focal point.
I attended sessions on homeschooling, coordinating baby/bridal showers, and a special talk for pastors wives. A very godly woman who has been a pastor’s wife for over 50 years shared some important helps for pastors’ wives. Her talk was my favorite one of the day.
I took several pictures at the Showers of Blessings session. Tables were set up with theme ideas for baby girl and baby boy showers. The three-tiered box cake was actually made out of styrofoam, but it was so lovely.

This cake wasn not made out of styrofoam! It was just gorgeous and was given away as a door prize during the last session. A very sweet pastor’s wife was the recipient, and she had the greatest little story to tell as she graciously accepted the cake.
She said that when she arrived home that evening, a missionary family would be there waiting on her. She had gone grocery shopping the day before and had really planned to try to come up with a frugal menu that would still be appreciated by her guests. She used coupons and purchased the store specials and was able to stay within her budget. The only thing she still needed was a dessert. She had actually prayed that God would give her an idea for an inexpensive dessert. Now, I sure do like how God answered her prayer! She was able to take this cake home with her and serve it to the visiting missionaries. How neat is that?
What a great conference! And that is a wonderful story of God’s grace and provision for that pastor’s wife with the beautiful cake. God is good. In the big AND the small.
Everything was so beautiful. Loved the themes. But the cake story is just priceless. Isn’t it neat how God will answer our prayers in VERY unexpected ways? I’m glad you had a good time.

I’m glad you had a good time, the pictures were beautiful!
And speaking of beautiful, I LOVE the new blog design. I tried so hard to do the 3 column thing and couldn’t get it to work. Now you’re going to have to help me with it some time! (o;
Blessings,

Mrs. B,
Thank you for your sweet compliment! I just emailed you. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing about this beautiful conference! And your blog design is beautiful too!
I sure enjoyed this post. I actually read it to Ashleigh while she was nursing Merritt. : ) And showed her all the pictures too. We both gleaned ideas, but especially loved the story of the pastor’s wife winning the cake as a door prize. God is so good!!
Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Everything is gorgeous! I know you enjoyed that so much. I agree with you – I’m glad to not be in charge of such a big affair.
I’m glad you had such a nice time!
Wow! What a wonderful conference, Mrs. C! Everything is gorgeous, I’m glad to hear you had a relaxing time.
Hugs,
Kelli
Wow, that’s the nicest looking ladies meeting I’ve ever seen. Things look beautiful. If the speakers were as good as the decor I’m sure it was wonderful!
Sounds like you left the conference inspired! Love all the ideas for the showers. I especially liked the story about the cake. Very sweet!
What a blessing about the cake! I just love hearing things like that.
I love your new look! I just “re-decorated” my blog, but I was thinking today how nice it would be to have a three column layout. I may have to ask your advice if I do decide to do it! 🙂
God bless!
What a beautifully presented conference! I love how the Lord uses people’s giftings to present such lovely ideas, etc.
The cake story is priceless….God is Good!! (love your new look, too!)
Your new blog design is very pretty.
This conference looked wonderful!
What a blessing to be able to attend such an encouraging conference!!! And I’ll bet the dear pastor’s wife of 50 years had MUCH wisdom to share about being married to the pastor. It can be quite a job sometimes, can’t it? 🙂
And I am SO happy for the lady that won the cake!!! God is so sweet to provide for her in such a neat way!!
His,
Mrs. U
I so enjoyed this little tour! The ladies of that church deserve a special reward! That was so beautifully done. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. And I got chills when reading about the pastor’s wife winning the gorgeous cake. Now that was a “GOD” thing! No denying that!
Our ladies are headed down to Nakomis for a retreat this weekend. Please pray that hearts will be touched and filled.
Wow! How beautiful!
Also, I just had to comment on your new look and the header photo — terrific!!!
