We started off our first day of school this week by taking an afternoon field trip to Stone Mountain http://www.stonemountainpark.com/ (hey, one of the benefits of homeschooling is taking field trips whenever you want to!). The weather was p-e-r-f-e-c-t! It rained early in the morning, so the high was only in the 80’s. Mimi (my mom) has been visiting this week and went along with us. We visited a few of our favorite attractions (the kids love playing in the Treehouse and The Great Barn). We also took the skycar up to the top of the mountain. I always get a little bit nervous when we’re on top of the mountain because the kids love to run all around up there and I worry that somehow they’re going to topple over the edge-yes, I know there’s a protective fence, but I still worry! Lil’ Nut wore herself out and slept the whole way home. I bet the public school kids didn’t have as much fun on their first day back in class as we did!
LOL about the hat! Her curls peaking out beneath it sure are cute though! (o:
What a cute hat! Why *wouldn’t* you buy her that hat, Mom???!!!! Looks like you had a great first day of school. We won’t start here (even in public schools) till the day after Labour Day.
I’ve been to Stone Mountain. It is high up there!

We went to Stone Mountain a few years ago. I had only been one time before to the laser show. It was so neat. I won’t go back now due to the music they play while doing it. But the lasers are sure neat how they do them. We got to see alot of things when we went a few years back. The best thing was the 4-D theatre. Did you go in it? It was so neat!!! We also went up to the top of the mountain…and Ronnie had a broken foot when we went too….I’m sure you can imagine how badly that hurt by the time we were done. BTW…he didn’t know it was broke at the time.
What a fun way to start back to school!
Makes me wish I had homeschooled.

We did go to the 4D theatre. One of my kids will not wear the glasses and sits there covering his eyes the whole time. We really enjoy it!
very cool! What a fun way to spend your first day of school. You are right my children, who go to public school don’t get to do anything that fun:) They are starting next week. We must start later here.
Mrs. C, that’s a LOVELY hat!!! LOL
Enjoyed the pics!
